Welcome to eLab Handbook - the Children’s & Women’s electronic laboratory reference manual. 

 

Our aim is that eLab handbook will be used by health care professionals as a convenient point-of-reference for test information including: ordering procedures, processing information, specimen collection and handling and transport instructions. 

 

Test information availability
Currently the following divisions from Children’s and Women’s lab are avaliable: Anatomic Pathology, Central Laboratory, Laboratory Genetics and Microbiology.

 

How to search for tests
You can find the test you are looking for by:

1.     Search by whole or part of a test name in the Search for Test field to the left

2.     Clicking on the tests tab to display a list of tests

 

You can then refine your search by:

1.     Filtering the list of tests by lab, division and section and/or

2.     Sorting the list of tests alphabetically by clicking on the column headings

Simply click on the test name to open the test details.

 

Recent updates
You can use the Changed Since field on the Tests tab to select tests which have been updated since a certain date.  Check back frequently as this site will reflect the latest changes in test information.
